Last episode we mainly described process of CCEWOOL mullite insulation brick masonry and its precautions. This week we will continue to describe wet masonry of CCEWOOL mullite insulation fire brick.
Ⅴ、Masonry of mullite insulation bricks
(1)The sequence and height of mullite insulation bricks masonry should be based on the masonry structure.
(2)Mullite insulation brick or light weight refractory brick should be laid with the jonts staggered.
(3)Mullite insulation brick masonry should be leveled with thick refractory mortar. When the uneveness is out of tolerance or there is embedded piece or special shaped brick. It should be leveled with processed brick.
(4)During masonry of mullite insulating fire brick. The flat seam should be flat plastered and vertical seam should be plastered with knife.
(5)In mullite insulating fire brick masonry, we should not set expansion joint。 But when parts of other devices faces directly to the insulating fire brick and the its swell value is big. We should replace the insulating fire brick with refractory fiber or other flexible insulating material.
(6)When expansion joint of refractroy masonry especially direct expansion joint faces directly to insulating masonry. Mullite insulating fire brick of this place must be replaced with refractory fire brick.Usually we lay one layer of standard refractory fire brick flat or vertical just cover the expansion joint is OK.
(7)Light weight mullite insulating fire brick should be leveled by hand. It should not be struck with mallet. The dried insulating masonry should not be knocked, impact or vibrated.
(8)The width of insulating masonry brick seam should be less than 5mm. The mud number and proportion must comply with the design requirements. The full capacity of the wet masonry mullite insulation bricks shall not be less than 80%.
This week we described wet masonry of mullite insulating fire brick. Hope this can bring some help to furnace builders.
