In order to improve the quality of insulating refractory bricks produced by the burn out addition method, taking the brick making process of insulating clay bricks as an example, the following measures can be taken.
(1) When selecting raw materials for producing insulating clay brick materials, shall consider the bonding property, plasticity and firing shrinkage, and pay attention to the adequate fire resistance of the raw materials. These properties of silica or high alumina clay refractories are different, and clays of different properties can be mixed to take the advantages of different clays.
(2) In order to improve the cohesion of clay and the plasticity of green refractory brick, various methods can be used to improve them. Such as fine grinding, weathering, mud trapping, adding electrolyte or binder, etc.
(3) Add plasticizers, such as inorganic or organic substances such as bentonite.
(4) The particles of combustible additives should not be too fine. Due to different particle shapes and properties of different types of additives, their properties for preparing insulating refractory bricks are also different.
