Main difference between insulating fire brick and refractory brick

Main function of insulating fire brick is thermal insulation and reduces heat loss. Insulating fire bricks do not touch fire directly while refractory fire bricks touch fire directly. Refractory brick is mainly used to withstand the temperature of fire.
Main difference between insulating fire brick and refractory fire brick is as follow.
1. Thermal insulation property.
Heat conductivity of insulating fire brick is 0.2-0.4(average temperature 350±25℃)w/m.k. But heat conductivity of refractory fire brick is above 1.0(average temperature 350±25℃)w/m.k, so thermal insulation property of insulating fire brick is much better than refractory fire brick.
2. Refractoriness
Refractoriness of insulating fire brick is below 1400℃, but refractoriness of refractory fire brick is above 1400℃.
3. Density
Insulating fire brick is light weight insulation material, its density is between 0.8-1.0g/cm3 while density of refractory fire brick is above 2.0g/m3.
Advantage of CCEWOOL insulating fire brick:
1. We can make insulating fire brick of different sizes according to drawings.
2. Automatic furnace, stable temperature control. Low thermal contraction, 3% lower than similar product. Low thermal conductivity.
3. Precise dimension, tolerance within ±1mm. Easy for installation.
4. Output 120000pcs/day, timely delivery guaranteed.
5. Manufacture according to ASTM standard.
The difference between refractory fire brick and insulating fire brick is large. Their application environment, scope and function are all different. Different position should be applied with different materials. When we choose material we should take actual condition into consideration and choose the material that suit the best.
