Lightweight mullite castable is a kind of refractory material with excellent high temperature performance and good thermal insulation performance. Since it is produced with high-quality synthetic raw materials and is combined in the form of low-cement or micropowder, it can be directly applied to high-temperature parts in contact with flames.

Selection of Micropowder
Compared with dense castables, lightweight castables have lower flow properties, especially those used in high temperature parts. Due to the use conditions, the amount and type of micro powder added are subject to certain restrictions. In order to enhance the flow properties of this castable, the composite micropowder is adopted. After the comparison test, it is believed that it is difficult to make this castable achieve good fluidity and performance by adding only a single alumina powder or silicon powder. In order to improve the construction performance and high temperature strength index of the castable, we increased the amount of micropowder added, and it is appropriate to control the total amount of micropowder at 10%~18%.
