(3)Because light weight insulation fire brick has high porosity, the brick can not withstand large weight load. And the brick should not touch molten metal, slag and high temperature furnace dust.
(4)Light weight insulation fire brick has low strength. When building with light weight insulation brick we should properly arrange the seam and expansion joint to avoid the expansion to damage the masonry.
(5)Linear change on reheating of light weight insulation fire brick is big. So its highest working temperature should be 100℃ lower than its firing temperature.
(6)The difference between thermal insulation material and heavy refractory material is big. Light weight insulation fire brick’s heat stability is weak. If the furnace lining is built with light weight insulation fire brick the temperature of furnace should not be up and down too fast or the lining of furnace will crack. The insulation fire brick outside the furnace must be strengthened. For example strengthen the brick with furnace steel plate or metal rod.
