① It can resist high temperature heat load without softening and melting. The refractoriness of refractory bricks should be quite high.
② It can resist high temperature heat load, with no volume shrinkage and only uniform expansion. The refractory brick is required to have high volume stability, small shrinkage and swelling, no crystal transformation and serious volume change.
③ It can resist the combined action of high temperature heat load and weight load, without loss of strength, creep and collapse. It is required that the refractory bricks have fairly high strength under normal temperature, high strength under high temperature, high softening temperature under load and high creep resistance.
④ It can resist the influence of rapid temperature change or uneven heating without cracking or peeling. The refractory brick is required to have good heat shock resistance.
